Conditions suitable for fast-track referral

• Raised PSA or other suspected prostate concerns
• Visible or persistent non-visible haematuria
• Acute or recurrent kidney and ureteric stone disease
• Assessment for enlarged prostate surgery, including HoLEP
• General and paediatric urology concerns

How to refer

   Send your referral

   By letter, email, or your usual referral route, including relevant history, examination findings and any results to hand.

   Confirmation

   The private secretary confirms receipt and contacts your patient directly to arrange their appointment.

   Consultation

   Mr Swallow sees your patient personally, and — where relevant — arranges any diagnostics needed at the same visit.

   Feedback to you

   A clinic letter is sent to you promptly after each consultation, and again at each significant stage of treatment, so you stay up to date.

What's helpful to include

• Relevant history and examination findings
• Current medicines — particularly anticoagulants (aspirin, clopidogrel, warfarin or similar), which affect several treatment decisions
• Most recent PSA or other relevant blood results
• Any imaging already performed
