Straightforward private care, whether you're paying for yourself, using medical insurance, or travelling to London for treatment. There's no online booking — every enquiry is handled personally.

Two ways to arrange your care

Both self-paying and insured patients are welcome, and the process for each is slightly different. If you're not sure which applies to you, get in touch and the private secretary can talk you through it — there's no obligation.

If you're using private medical insurance

Check your policy
Contact your insurer to confirm your cover and whether pre-authorisation is needed before your appointment.

Arrange a GP referral
Most insurers require a referral letter from your GP to authorise specialist treatment — check this with your insurer directly.

Contact the private secretary
Provide your insurer's name and your membership or authorisation number when booking.

Consultation & treatment
Costs are billed in line with your insurer's arrangements; any tests or treatment beyond your initial consultation may need separate authorisation.

If you're paying for yourself

Contact the private secretary to arrange your first appointment. A GP referral isn't essential, though it's helpful if you have one.

Consultation with Mr Swallow
A thorough assessment of your symptoms and situation.

A clear quote, before anything is booked
If tests or treatment are recommended, you'll be given an itemised quote in advance — nothing proceeds without your agreement.

Invoicing
Invoices are issued directly to you, with payment arranged through the private secretary.

Which insurers are recognised?

Mr Swallow is Bupa fee-assured. He also works with other major UK insurers, including AXA PPP, Aviva, Allianz, CIGNA, WPA, Vitality, Healix Health, Simply Health and The Exeter. If you're unsure whether your policy is accepted, Sue and her team can check for you before your appointment.

International patients

Mr Swallow regularly cares for patients travelling to London for treatment at The Princess Grace Hospital. Consultations are available in English and French, and a remote video consultation can often be arranged beforehand to review scans or test results and plan your visit — helping make the most of your time in London.

No online booking

There's no online booking system on this website. Every enquiry — whether self-pay, insured, or international — is handled personally by the private secretary, who will call or email you back to arrange a time that suits you.
